The bands.

LA Weekly calls Mike+Ruthy Band, “Some of the best songwriting of their generation”, while the New York Times calls their new album, “Pristine”. Right on the heels of successful 2014 dates with Milk Carton Kids, Elephant Revival and Lake Street Dive, Mike + Ruthy are poised to blaze their own trail as festival favorites in 2015. With a scorching new record that showcases an arsenal of some of the best, road-tested material on tour today, Mike + Ruthy Band is hitting the ground running.

Overstuffed with iconic Americana idioms ranging from Motown to Bluegrass, Old-time to Indie-folk; fiddles fly in jubilation, banjos skip with dexterity, ukuleles plunk with sass and the stories of the songs resonate as never before. Supported deftly by a veteran band of comrades, Mike + Ruthy’s hallmark harmony singing and top-tier songwriting that fans have come to expect from the duo is now bolstered by a rock solid bed of drums, bass, pedal steel and vintage horns.

Matt Phillips is a soulful artist that strives to make music people can get behind. Based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, this young performer and songwriter pens songs with folk and soul roots as deep as the cracks in his weathered acoustic. Whether he’s leading a 7-piece band with a huge, sly-jazzy sound or just flying solo with nothing more than his voice, guitar and the occasional harmonica solo – you can’t help but bob your head. With nearly 300 shows already under his belt and two releases paving the way, Matt is proving himself a confident and unique young performer with a very bright future ahead.
