A volunteer creating face paint masterpieces on the kids at PepperFest.

If you would like to be an integral part of creating a more sustainable and resilient community in the Piedmont of North Carolina, and you have some spare time, consider volunteering with Abundance NC.  Volunteers are crucial to the work of Abundance NC, and we rely heavily on the help and expertise of all sorts of people who contribute to making our events with workshops, conferences, kids’ sustainability projects and other work as successful as they are.

Volunteering at any of our events gets you free entry. Some of our events require a lot of help, like our annual PepperFest, or Death Faire, so there are all kinds of ways to get involved, depending on your particular interests, skill set, and availability.

We need volunteers to help with:

  • setting up, taking down and running our many events
  • hanging posters around town, and helping to market our events and projects
  • supporting workshop instructors
  • gardening
  • writing stories for our blog
  • and many more things!

If you love our work, we’d love to have your help!  Our volunteers really have a chance to make a difference for something they care about, whether it’s sustainability, nutrition, local food, local economy or the resilience of our community.

Please contact us to let us know how you’d like to be involved!

“…We have barely disembarked into life…we’ve only just now been born, let’s not fill our mouths with so many uncertain names, with so many sad labels, with so many pompous letters, with so much yours and mine, with so much signing of papers. I intend to confuse things, to unite them, make them new-born intermingle them, undress them, until the light of the world has the unity of the ocean, a generous wholeness, a fragrance alive and crackling.”
