We have two fundraisers each year, to help raise money for our various programs, such as our Kids’ Sustainability work, and to keep our events, conferences and workshops affordable for the whole community.
Our ANNUAL FUNDRAISERS:
- Harvest Abundance – Each summer we celebrate the bounty of summer crops with a fundraising soiree at the lovely Oakleaf Restaurant, a farm-to-table restaurant in Pittsboro.
- Earth Day 5K – Earth Day is the perfect excuse to party, and to bring out our running shoes to raise money for our programs. After the morning race, the festivities continue with live music, food trucks and general revelry.
While we charge admission to many of our events, the cost of admission in most cases doesn’t cover all the costs of putting on these events, especially if we want to keep prices low enough that everyone can afford to come. We want the whole community to be able to learn skills that make themselves more self-sufficient, to learn about how to cope with climate change, to be able to eat delicious local food, and to celebrate with like-minded people, regardless of background or income level. We try to keep our ticket prices and costs for workshops and conferences affordable, and we also offer work-trade options and scholarships to our events.
Come take part in these fundraisers and helps us cultivate and celebrate community resilience! You can also help in other ways. There are plenty of options for how to get involved: volunteer, donate, become a sustainer, write a story for us, join our board, sponsor an event, and more!
