Rock your ‘nox off this Friday at outdoor goat roast and dance party

Ever been to a goat roast?  Me neither.  But if there’s ever a time to try one out, now is that time.

Not only is it happening on the Spring Equinox, but local chef Matthew Kelly, of the fancy-dancy restaurants, Vin Rouge and Mateo, will be at the goat-roasting helm, so you know the food will be delish.  Plus, guests have been promised s’mores, adult beverages, games and much revelry.

As at every Wild Yonder event, there will also be a campfire – where else are we supposed to roast those s’mores? And this time there will also be a DJ dance party, to keep us warm all night as we shake down beneath the open sky.

Tree makes a good roof.

The whole shenanigan goes down this Friday, March 20, from 6pm-midnight, at Spruce Pine Lodge, a wilderness center north of Durham.

This sounds like my kind of a good time.

Buy tickets:  The ticket Price ($55 per ticket, $100 for two) includes food, drink & admission to all camp activities.  Most special diets accommodated.

See you there!

Sparklers seem to be a common theme to all Wild Yonder camps.

About hosts, Wild Yonder:

Wild Yonder is a roving summer camp offering inspired retreats fueled by fresh air. Part vacation, part symposium, WY builds events and cultivates opportunities for campers to relax, discover and share—all while sitting around a campfire with a flask of bourbon.

From their website:

Our formula has three parts…

Wild Yonder serves as host to the great wide open. We leave the city behind us, even if only for a few hours, and tap into the magic of nature: the quiet; the smells of pine needles and dirt; the sensation of stepping into a flowing river; the taste of an expertly scorched marshmallow.

Wild Yonder encourages and celebrates creativity through curated programming. We provide a forum  for badasses from our cultural community to share their gifts and skills with others. We’ll make you a promise: you will leave WY with new knowledge.

Our retreats are intentionally small and intimate. Each group creates a unique dynamic with inimitable discoveries. We learn from each other and form new bonds with every trail hiked and meal shared.

It’s not a real party without the cocktails.

You know you need some time in nature, bless your heart.
